Deja Vu Italian Style 🇮🇹

This mask shows the scary side of Alzheimer's following me in Italy. 👺 I feel like I've been here before! I had Deja Vu for over a month when we were in Australia 🦘. Now I have it again in Venice, Italy. 🇮🇹 Actually, it is a valid feeling. I visited Venice thirty years ago. It is still familiar and I keep saying that I remember this place and that place as we walk around the scenic city. Sometimes my memory is even better than my husband's memory of this magical city in Italy.

I remember the gondolas skimming across the city canals. We sat and watched the elegant boats for hours. Only men are working on them and they charge $100 per gondola boat. 🛶

I remember the central San Marco Square. The last time we were here, it was flooded from a major storm. Sandbags were piled at the edges of the Grand Canal. It survived the flood and looks better than ever now. 🏞️
I survived the Venice flood and now I am fighting surviving my diagnosis. I am not going to let  Alzheimer's bring me down. I am still backpacking around the world for the past five months with my husband! 🌎

I am now taking two medications for this horrible disease. Who wants to lose their memory? I am writing my Blog to remember the trip. I am still backpacking  in foreign countries and enjoying it. I am a survivor ‼️😅

Venice has a magical feeling to it. The monumental buildings have survived floods, rain and bad weather. 🌦️The sun 🌞 always comes out again. I find this message powerful now in my life.

The Italian government just blasted a national alert system on our phones. It buzzed everyone's phone at the same time. I was alarmed, but an Italian man explained that it was just a test. My life is just a test now. How will I continue to respond to my health issues? I will remain calm and trust my doctors and medication. Viva Italia‼️🇮🇹✴️
