My Quicksand of Forgetfulness

  What a unique musical event at a cool, old style Vegas club sponsored by Cleveland Clinic! The owner has ties to the Clinic and invited patients who are musical to play along on instruments and sing on stage. It was a big event for them and enjoyable to experience. Did you know every 65 seconds someone develops Alzheimer's? 😊 My CC ukulele teacher invited me and helped organize the event. I brought my instrument, but chickened out when I heard the musicians. They were amazing and I shook my mararcas song with the band. Some talented patients sang and played along with the professional jazz band.  Cleveland Clinic Music Therapist Julie Renato initiated this entertaining event. She even sang onstage with one of her patients. Many talented singers and musicians had the opportunity to perform in a nightclub stage.  The musicians and former singers enjoyed performing together.   Does this look like a weird painting? It is a self portrait by X, the famous Mexican artist. She painted arrows pointing to her body ailments. She got polio at a young age, lost her leg and her health rapidly reclined. She turned to art to express herself. Now her home filled with her artwork is a museum? Museum in Mexico City.🖼️  I recently visited it and empathized with her pain. She painted, made sculptures and wrote to express herself. She painted her home in bright colors filled with artwork and pottery. What a wonderful example of lifting your spirits daily? How can I do that? I just read a recent study about a man with early Alzheimer's disease. He actually cleared plaque in his brain that could be seen on MRI's.
